DIY Floral Crown and Bowtie

for the Belle's Godparents

80% of my waking hours goes to thinking about my daughter Elle's baptism. But... I do multitask in a very EXTREME manner (being a working mom, who is a Senior Software Developer + thinker/blogger/OCD-ish), so that percentage probably won't really count.

One idea we I have is related to outfits and bringing it all closer to the theme. *Only applies to Godparents. Since they're important. Like bridesmaids and dudes.

However it's not a wedding; and I'm afraid people might be put off if we give them a limit to what they can wear. We don't want anyone feeling uncomfortable now do we. So...

That being said, we I* thought of another way to somehow have something in common. And the idea hit me! It's really not hard to come up with this; it's not really original anymore. This idea is like... EVERYWHERE! But I saw it mostly on lookbook posts and from stalking fashion/cool blogs.

*This planning is a one-man task. I asked for H's ideas and opinions, but all he said was 'ok'. In a lot of different ways. Psh. Anyway.

a) FLORAL CROWNS

Her ninangs (ladies//godparents) will wear floral crowns. Probably on reception only. Catholic churches might not approve of people with crowns during the ceremony. It probably is the same with wearing a hat.

Anyway. As per usual, I obsessed focused on pinterest pins, searching for designs and how-to's. And I'm sharing a bit of what I learned and liked.

The picture below will be our reference for when designing the crown. It's simple yet pretty. So those who might be a bit shy won't get too overwhelmed.

For myself however, I think I can handle larger flowers on my head. And a different more LOUD pattern probably. I would also make one for the Belle! Will glue it on a garter.

b) BOWTIES
Her ninongs (gentlemen//godparents) will wear bowties. This they can wear in the church, but that might be a bit unfair now won't it.

I will go with the ready-tied bowtie; not everyone knows how to tie it properly anyway. I myself am clueless!

And since I won't have time (or the guts) to ask and get their neck sizes, it would be best to be safe and glue pins on each bowtie, instead of a garter.

Lookbook Inspiration: Nadia Esra

a photo shoot invitation.

TO THE AUDIENCE OF THIS BLOG WHO ARE FROM THE PHILIPPINES.

I got worked up over photography from reading (too much of) this blog. Actually, she's a sort of fashion blogger I think, being a lookbook goddess. But I liked her photos and its vibes. So...

If you are somewhere in Manila, I am inviting you to a Nadia Esra themed photo shoot! For free, of course. Wish there would be bunnies.

Ring me a bell to meilin_tiong@yahoo.com if you're interested.

Let's talk about date and venue and props over coffee or tea. My treat! Or probably not. I don't know.
To hook you in, here are photos of Nadia. Also, follow her on instagram @nadiaesra. She has the coolest photos. Or one of, at least.

ALSO! I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SHOOTS FOR A LOOKBOOK ACCOUNT. Just hit my mail darlings.

Hair Inspiration (or Obsession): Pastels and ombres

Three FIVE IMPORTANT keywords. HAIR. OMBRE. PASTELS.
PURPLE. PINK.

I obviously like purple more than pink.

Unfortunately (kill me!), my office doesn't allow those type of beauty, because apparently, they're TOO loud. Which brings me to more keywords.

BROWN. TO. BLONDE. RED. TO. ORANGE.

A.k.a what will become of my hair locks in a few weeks ☾
