Part 1 of The Belle's Baptism: In The Church

Or a longer version: The Christening of Kayla Chayylielle, a.k.a my darling Elle Belle

Finally, the photos are here! We got them from the photographer yesterday. And I cannot wait to show off share (I am winking!) them to you guys!

In addition to this, I am doing four more posts: A) as a continuation, i.e. Part 2: DURING RECEPTION; B) a post dedicated solely to DIY stuff (e.g. bow ties and flower crowns) -- which includes tutorials, tips and tricks; C) a post to tell the story of how I probably went a little overboard with planning -- which includes details, and supplier ratings; and D) to share the pictures from our family photo shoot. I am so jumping with glee right now!.

I have already told you here, that we threw a party to celebrate the baptismal of our daughter. She happens to be the first baby girl from both my and my husband's side of the family (she is a princess), so the whole process kind of went a little bit crazy. We are so happy how it turned out; we had put so much effort -- both my husband and I -- to achieve this super-girly-shabby-chic-slash-dainty event. (Which is the reason why) Now, I am so happy I got more than just printables to show (if you remember from here).

Enjoy the pictures. "Yay for celebrations & over-planning!"

Flutter Curtain plus Tree Branch Curtain Rod

You know why I'm hunting down DIY stuff for the house? Well... A) If it ain't obvious already, I love DIY and crafts. And B) We are working on a very tight budget. Christmas is coming, plus the Belle's first birthday next year. It will be quite a ride going from 2013 to 2014.

So you can imagine my joy when I found these.

A. FLUTTER CURTAINS.

I am a fan of good-looking curtains. I think they add fabulousness to a room. Like I can have the simplest of decors, but with a pair of the perfect curtains, and voila! It will be looking hotel-ish, magazine-worthy, just like that. I was curious when I saw these flutter curtains. I think it looked divine! But then, I figured photography must've affected that, since there was no photo of the room to show the full package. BUT... I think this is better than what we have now (read: cheap/old/yellow/yuck). Plus, the fact that I will only need white cloth (read: inexpensive). So yup, this is currently in my To Do list. For the bedroom. Hopefully no regrets.

B. TREE BRANCH CURTAIN ROD.

Aren't this just adorable? We'll have a white rustic feel around the house. Plus the fact that it's easy to make, this is perfect! An inexpensive statement piece, what else can I ask for? I'll have this in the living room. To wow them guests. The rest of the room, we'll have white/beige rug, dark brown/light blue sofa, DIY throw pillows, built-in shelves, wooden crates as coffee table, and DIY bean bag chairs. Husband kind of gave me a tight budget [we have no other choice], so I have my fingers crossed. I want a reading nook slash playpen in the corner (a tipi, maybe --- another post for that), plus a space for my work(?), i.e. blogging/DIY and crafts/and other stuff. So hopefully, I can squeeze those two in [read: small space].

That's it for today's DIY decor inspiration.
What's in your To Do list?
