This blog has both "caprice" and "whims" in its name, for a reason.
I'm pretty much aware of last year, and the birthday cake inspiration post I made, and the fact that the reason behind said post was, and I quote, "to uhm establish the finality ofmyour decision on the theme, and to avoid swooshing thoughts, that might result to changing the plan". BUTT!
Here's an updated version, of the list of "ideas"(/inspiration), that I (so much) desire(/lust) to have for Elle's first birthday cake. Six months ago, I was going for a less is more approach; I was in love with the simple white cake, and either fresh flowers and greens, or statuettes of woodland creatures on top. That was until The Cake Whisperer. Be sure to visit their portfolio. Because they couldn't be any more talented! I tell you, their execution is just... phenomenal! I was taken into "fondant-dom", and cake glamorousity and grandeur! I got so hooked that I dreamed of having these cakes for the party (these will surely wow all our guests). Anyway... next thing was to choose a design, which obviously I simply cannot do. So...

I've got votes from certain people, including my husband, and the award goes to... tan-da-ra-ran! THE LOVELY OMBRE NAKED CAKE! I'm just a wee bit worried it's too simple. Should we add decors? What do you think?
