Here are photos from around the net. I seem to have
unconsciously built this obsession with rooms in this palette: white, neutrals, and aqua or mint. Or blush, since H (as in husband) has this weird idea that pink
girly-fies the room, something he would NEVER want. Well, so much for my wants! Anyway...
To explain it in a gist, architects, engineers, or whoever, are now building our house, and will be finished in 3 or so months. We, H and I, have tight pockets, so budget budget budget... and since I know it pays off to know stuff before doing them, I spent a good 3 weeks searching the net (mostly google and pinterest) for interiors and DIY home decors.
Thus, this post.
For our bedroom, it will save us cash to stay with the white painting, which is the default paint color they (the architects, engineers, whoever) will use. I am still contemplating on whether I like bed frames or not. I think I'm in love with that sort of mini stage as a bed frame and just put on the mattress and sheets and pillows and voila! Relaxing. I think. H thinks otherwise. Which makes our first dilemma. I mean second, given the first one is 'to pink or not to pink'.
Currently, we have a
mattress bed couch, or sofa bed, which we can reuse. But since it's in an UGLY color of blue and green, we should be looking for good-looking sheets. We're also thinking of throwing the bed couch to the other bedroom, which will be for our helpers, and buy a new one. But again, tight pockets, so we may just have to scratch that idea. What I'm sure with, is that I will scout for old chest drawers, like really old, almost broken type of chest drawers. Which will probably cost $4 to $5, converted to our money is more or less Php200. I'm reading a lot on re-fab furniture to help with the secondhand stuff. I'll also scout for vintage trunk/chest for the foot of the bed. Then, a lamp. I think there will be free cabinets from them*, but I want a shoe organizer either under the bed or well I don't know yet. I will also include a reading nook for the kids in the corner of the room, just a tiny triangular space with sheets and some other softness I can find. For free, if I may add.
SO THAT'S IT. For other DIY decors or anything about styling, I ABSOLUTELY recommend visiting
The House of Smiths, which is owned by probably the most perfect couple in the world.

THEM refers to them architects, engineers or whoever people I keep mentioning. Who were provided by Camella Homes, which is the real estate company we got the house from.
